After freezing, the rhizomes of the roots and stems turn dark and die, and the roots occur at the top, while the heavy ones form a black ring and surround the stem, and the whole plant dies.

Root damage: In the roots growing underground, freezing damage is not easily detected, but it seriously affects the growth of the above ground.
