Piglet cutting: Forage + pellet feed

Pigs are omnivorous animals and have strong ability to feed and use pastures, especially for the use of pastures by local excellent pig breeds. The nutrients in pasture can be fully digested and absorbed by pigs and have a high nutritional value. Experiments and production practices have shown that pigs can eat green feed all year round and can receive the effect of “supplementing the essence with green, reducing costs and increasing efficiency”. Feeding sows with high-quality forage can meet nutritional needs and increase litter size. Feeding fattening pigs can improve meat quality.

Looking at the composition of the food chain of "Pig-Grass", it is feasible to grow grass and raise pigs. According to the nutritional needs of pigs and the ability to use pasture, finishing pigs can be fed with 5 kg to 8 kg of fresh forage every day, and sows can be fed with 10 kg to 12 kg each day. Generally speaking, the yield of fresh pasture grass is about 10,000 kilograms to 15,000 kilograms. The fresh grass harvested from planting 1 hectare of pasture can meet the matching amount of 20 finishing pigs or 10 sows.

From a yield point of view, it is feasible to grow grass and raise pigs. Under the present production and technical conditions, the feed remuneration for growing pigs is generally 3:1. For a finishing pig with 100 kg, about 300 kg of condiment is needed. According to the current feed price, the cost is about 780 yuan. After feeding pasture to replace some of the concentrate, it can save 20 kg to 30 kg of concentrate feed and reduce feed costs by 50 to 80 yuan. If sows are used to feed the sows, the use ratio is higher, and more concentrates can be saved, reducing the production cost more.

In areas where there is a shortage of concentrate feed or concentrated feed, breeding grass is a good way to grow pigs. In addition to the use of cultivated land for growing pigs, farmers can also make full use of unused land in the field, wasteland and other unused land to grow high-quality forage to develop pig breeding.

Grass utilization methods

Grass-breeding pigs must select suitable pasture varieties, and they must combine the seasons to determine the method of pasturing pigs. In summer and autumn, grass-raising pigs use fresh grasses as the main way of pasture use; in winter and spring season, high-quality grass flour or forage grasses as pulp are used as feed ingredients.

1. Fresh feed for pasture: During the spring and summer season, the pasture planting time will be planted with juicy grasses such as grain pods, grasses, chicory, etc. Fresh grasses will account for 15% to 30% of the diet, and 1 mus for every 10 pigs. grass.

2. The use of forage grass made of grass powder added to concentrate feed: The planting varieties are alfalfa, Mexican corn, and high-grass grass, etc. Fresh grasses can be used in summer and autumn, and added to the diet in the form of grass powder in winter and spring. The amount of pasture powder accounts for 8% to 15% of the diet, and 0.5 mus for every 10 pigs.

3. Pasturing of forage or cutting off the use of silage and fine feed with the use of feeding: as long as the remaining season of direct utilization of pasture grass, you can beat or cut off the production of silage, in the absence of green feed with seasoning feed The specific amount of diet added can be determined based on the breed, growth stage, and physiological conditions of the pig.

Pig breeds suitable for raising pigs

European chicory, pine cone herb, bitter leeks, American corn pods, Rumex, alfalfa, Mexican corn, Sorghum grass, red bean grass and other forage grasses have relatively comprehensive nutrients. According to the calculation of dry matter, crude protein content High, generally above 12%, the highest up to 30%, and the complete range of amino acids, high utilization, can make up for the shortcomings of cereal feed protein, amino acid incomplete types, but also rich in vitamins and inorganic salts, crude fiber content Low, easy to digest, good palatability, high land yield per unit area, low production costs, and a wide range of sources.
