Wolfson announced that the Wolfson WM9081 single-chip digital-to-analog converter has been used in the new Ecotones Duet sleeper from Adaptive Sound Technologies, Inc. (ASTI).

The WM9081 is one of the Wolfson AudioPlus family of components, a highly integrated single-chip solution for portable navigation devices, mobile phones, digital radios and devices such as the Ecotones Duet, providing the best sound pressure level for audio power amplifiers (Sound) Pressure Levels) and clarity.

Compared to other two-chip solutions that use a digital-to-analog converter and a separate Class D amplifier, the WM9081 can reduce board area by approximately 30%. Consumer electronics manufacturers are expected to save 20% on material costs in the audio subsystem.

Compatible with leading application processors, the WM9081 combines an integrated high-efficiency 2.6W switchable class AB/D audio power amplifier, Dynamic Range Controller (DRC), and ReTune Mobile 5 band parameters with full programmable coefficients. Equalizer (Parametric Equalizer). ReTune Mobile can be used to configure different equalizer features (such as rock, pop, jazz, etc.) and can also compensate for the frequency response of an Electro-Dynamic speaker.

The WM9081 also incorporates programmable dynamic range control to help increase low-intensity signals to maximum volume for improved clarity. The WM9081 includes a Limiter design to prevent clipping and Distortion of the audio signal to avoid overloading the battery and damaging the speaker.

The WM9081 supports four control interface addressing and four-channel time-sharing multi-tasking (TDM), allowing independent configuration and drive of multiple components. Component control is controlled via standard 2-wire, 3-wire or 4-wire control interfaces or hardware control pins (Hardware Control Pins).

By playing a high-quality natural sound that combines dynamic changes, Ecotones Duet is specifically designed to help people sleep more easily. The built-in real-time compositing engine continuously detects intrusive noise, automatically adjusting the sound and volume, and providing outstanding sound shielding. When the intrusive noise slows down, the volume gradually returns to normal.
