Liao exports 300,000 tons of aquatic products in the first three quarters of this year

According to statistical data released by Shenyang Customs on the 15th, in the first three quarters of this year, Liaoning Province exported 300,000 tons of marine products, an increase of 5.6% over the same period of last year. The export volume was 980 million USD, an increase of 18.4%.

Statistics show that in the first three quarters of this year, the export of aquatic products in Liaoning Province accounted for more than 70% of the processing trade, and the export enterprises were dominated by private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises. The private enterprises exported 130,000 tons of aquatic products, an increase of 11.3%, and the trade volume was 420 million US dollars, an increase of 28%. Foreign-invested enterprises exported 104,000 tons of aquatic products, an increase of 6.1%, and the trade volume was 380 million US dollars, an increase of 13.9%.

The main export commodities are frozen fish and frozen fish fillets, and the products are mainly exported to Asia. Exports of water and marine products to Asia were 120,000 tons, an increase of 4.1%, and the trade volume was 340 million US dollars, an increase of 15.4%. It exported 82,000 tons in North America, an increase of 4%, and the trade volume was USD 320 million, an increase of 16.7%.

It is understood that with the international economic situation picking up, the international market demand for aquatic products has improved, but the export of aquatic products in Liaoning still faces a more severe situation. First of all, foreign technical barriers are becoming increasingly demanding. On January 1, 2010, the European Union implemented new regulations that require all aquatic products exported to the EU that use sea catch as raw material to be accompanied by written materials to prove the legitimacy of their raw materials. Otherwise, they may not be imported. Second, the industry management needs to be further improved. Most of the companies are small in size, and their aquaculture, production and processing conditions are not high, quality is difficult to fully meet standards, and their ability to withstand risks is poor. Third, the rapid increase in labor costs and the pressure of the continuous appreciation of the renminbi also weakened the price competitiveness of China's aquatic products in the international market.

To this end, the Customs advises: Actively develop leading enterprises, adopt international general standards to organize production, strengthen self-discipline in the industry, and establish their own brands. Pay attention to the development trend of international aquaculture, learn more about the content of new regulations in foreign countries through multiple channels and all aspects, adopt diversified production, multi-level processing and multi-channel exports. Adopt new technologies to continuously improve product quality and added value.
