Five trapping measures for vegetable pests

"Three greed" (grey, fun, gluttonous) is a unique habit of vegetable pests. For the "three greed" habits of pests, "five inducement" techniques (sex hormones, swatches, lights, sweet and sour liquid, poplar twigs) can be used. The trapping of adult worms destroys the male moths of the pests before they are mated and causes the female moths to lose the chance of mating, resulting in their inability to reproduce offspring.

The "three greed" habits of vegetable pests

Greedy. First, the greedy color: such as male beet armyworm, Spodoptera litura and other male moths, female hormones secreted by a body has a strong tropism. The second is greedy colors: such as whitefly, aphids, Liriomyza sativae, yellow striped triceratops, etc. have strong tropism towards yellow; pods have tropism towards orange; palm plague has strong tropism towards blue.

Snooze and snooze. Helicoverpa armigera, Spodoptera litura, Yellow-striped beaks, crickets, golden needleworms, melon crickets, crickets, etc. have strong phototaxis. They chase the lights in the night to “entertain” and stay awake all night. The cotton bollworm has a strong tendency towards poplar branches. Such pests like to hide in the branches of the poplar to sleep inside.

Greedy. One is gluttonous sweet and sour liquid: such as Spodoptera litura, melon flies and other greedy sweet and sour sauce. The second is gluttonous molasses: tobacco budworm has a tendency toward molasses. The third is greediness of the leaves: Arachnida, Acarina, leafhopper pests, cabbage leaves, vegetables and leaves that contain high nitrogen. The fourth is greed for organic matters: such as carrots, malt, bean cakes, cow dung, etc., which are greedily fermented by Spodoptera litura; there are also pests that are greedy for organic matter.

Using "five trapping" technology to trap moths

Sex hormone trapping. The principle of the application of this technology is to use the chemical substances related to gender communication secreted by the insect itself to trap and kill male adults so as to control the breeding of agricultural pests. At present, there are three types of synthetic sex hormone products: sexual inducers, sexual stimulants, and sex control agents. Among them, sexual lure attractants have very good trapping effect on male moths such as Plutella xylostella and Spodoptera litura and can be widely promoted.

Swatch seduce. The first is for whitefly, aphids, Liriomyza sativae, and yellow striped trichomoda. For example, a yellow plate can be used to trap pests, and 10 yellow plates can be placed per acre of vegetable field. It is worth noting that oil should be applied on the yellow board every 7 to 10 days to prevent the oil on the palette from affecting the trapping effect. The second is to use the orange plate for trapping and killing against the orange traits of vegetables. The third is that the palm flies have the property of tropism toward blue and can use blue objects to trap and kill.

Light trapping. According to the experiment, 50 pounds of agricultural insecticidal lamps are placed in each acre vegetable field. At the peak of the pests' moths, 172 Spodoptera littoralis, 130 Plutella xylostellas, 65 Bollworms, 47 Spodoptera exigua, and silver lines can be trapped one night. 40 moths, 33 white butterflies and 7 small tigers.

Sweet and sour liquid trap. It has been observed that 6 sweet and sour liquids are placed per mu of vegetable plots, and that 36 insect pests can be trapped each night per mu.

Yang Shuzhi hunted. In poplar-planted areas, 10 different poplar branches can be placed in each acre of vegetable fields, which has a good trapping effect on bollworms and other pests.
