A new sweet potato purple variety---Xu Zishu No. 1

The new sweet potato purple variety “Xu Zishu No. 1” developed by the Institute of Sweet Potato Research in our institute has recently passed the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee. The variety is based on the Japanese high-quality edible variety "Red East" as the parent, and the International Institute of Tropical Crops Huangpi Huangxin edible variety "TIB10" is the male parent. It is induced by grafting to induce flowering, sexual hybridization and multipoint comprehensive identification. . After being selected in the hybrid seedling nursery in 1997, with the characteristics of high fresh potato yield and anthocyanin content, in 1998 it was accelerated to participate in the selection nursery and in 1999 it was upgraded to the advanced identification nursery. In 2000, productivity, disease resistance and other multi-point joint and comprehensive traits were identified in Xuzhou. The results showed that the variety was resistant to stem nematode disease, middle resistance to root rot and black spot, and the yield traits were basically the same as those of “Xushu 18”. From 2001 to 2002, he participated in regional trials of sweet potato varieties in Jiangsu Province, and in 2003 he entered the production test of sweet potato varieties in Jiangsu Province. After more than 20 years of trial planting and identification, “Xu Zishu No. 1” is a new type of high-yield and purple meat. The output of fresh potatoes is stable at more than 2000 kg per mu, which is much higher than that of the Japanese purple heart variety “Yagawa violet” and Ayamurasiky. 3 to 5 times higher. Through the joint identification of sweet potato varieties in Jiangsu Province, the performance of the sweet potato variety regional trial in Jiangsu Province and the national sweet potato special group regional trial were consistent. The average fresh yield of fresh potatoes was over 2000 kg. After many years of tests, it has been confirmed that "Xu Zishu No. 1" has a high yield, is rich in anthocyanins, has a good taste of cooked foods, and has a bright color of processed foods and is of high commodity value. It is a suitable sweet potato for direct consumption of green health food or food processing. The new variety is also an ideal special type sweet potato new variety. The red heart of this species is purple, and the cooked food is bright purple with a good taste. Density of about 3300 per mu is appropriate. More resistant to late planting, waterlogging impact on yield. Suitable for planting in northern China and most of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
